OVERVIEW
The Old Vicarage is a fine example of it’s type, reputed to be over 250 years old with a classic layout and well proportioned rooms. Set well back from the road whilst being only a short walk from the village amenities including general store/ newsagents, chemist, traditional tearooms and butchers, hairdressers, the islands oldest pub and a primary school. Being on the TT course and distance wise, centrally located, makes for easy access to the whole island. The addition of a sympathetically designed motorcycle showroom in the early 2000’s provides a fabulous opportunity for the new owner to create annexe accommodation, additional leisure space or perhaps create a suite of offices (subject to planning approvals/ building regs). The gardens are a delight with a superb lawned frontage, edged with mature trees and being large enough to accommodate a marquee for private functions, along with a large enclosed rear courtyard – ideal for private entertaining. A mature orchard produces apples for cooking and eating, damsons and green gages, pears, plums and cherries with numerous other trees such as oak and willow providing further interest. Parking for the house is available to the front of the building whilst there is a large amount of additional space adjacent to the ‘museum’ along with numerous large purpose built sheds for general garden equipment and any amount of vehicle storage along with a more recently constructed chalet/ summerhouse, close to the house but nestled under the trees and providing a peaceful haven. Light and power have been installed giving the opportunity to develop further and create additional guest accomodation if required. The agents have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a viewing of this exceptional property.
