The Snaefell Mountain Railway is operating once again after undergoing trials this morning.

Operations were halted yesterday when the system failed to comply with reduced speed limits.

The limitations were introduced after a tram’s brake failed last week.

The Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate attended the trials and confirmed the effectiveness of speed monitoring equipment and management procedures.

The trams will now travel at 8mph as opposed to the usual 12mph to ensure passenger safety.
